Diana Lynn Church

53, of Indianapolis, died on June 10th following a brief illness.

As the Co-Owner and Co-Founder of DairyChem Laboratories with the love of her life who she was married to for 29 years, Daniel E. Church, she also served as one of the company's leading research flavor chemists and is credited with developing many of the ingredients that are used today in food products throughout the world.

A 1981 graduate of Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, she received a B.S. in Accounting and subsequently received a degree in Design from Butler University in 1985. Diana was also a 1977 graduate of Bloomington High School North. However, despite her accomplishments in education and business, her most loved and rewarding role was as the mother to her son, Grant Church, 20, as well as a mentor/advisor/and all-around pal to his many friends.

Diana served on numerous boards and organizations including the International Food Technologists & Sycamore Springs B.O.D. and was actively involved in the greater Indianapolis community through her dedication to a variety of need-based groups. According to her husband, when it came to life, Diana had "skin in the game." She was not one to sit idly by if she spotted an injustice and would work tirelessly to resolve the situation.

In addition to her husband and son, Diana is survived by her father, Charles Schroeder of Noblesville, her sister, Susan (& Brad) Booze of Zionsville and her brother, Charles Schroeder, Jr. of Noblesville. Also, she is survived by five nieces and nephews - Eric, Rachel and Nick Booze of Zionsville and Rebecca and Lauren Schroeder of Noblesville. Additionally, her in-laws, Manson & Phyllis Church of Indianapolis and her brother-in-law David Church survive her.

Diana's motto was "it's all good!" and it was; whether it involved a neighborhood walk with her dog, Gracie, an impromptu cookout with friends, or a getaway with family to their beloved home-away-from-home on Sanibel Island in Florida.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Diana's medical team including Dr. Bala Rangaswami, Dr. Lou Star, Dr. Robertson, and the staff at the I.U. Simon Cancer Center.

A 'Celebration of Life' service will take place at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 West 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 46260 on Friday, June 15 at 11:00am to be followed by a further Celebration and Reception at Meridian Hills Country Club, 7099 Spring Mill Road, Indianapolis, IN 46260 from 12-4:00pm. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Humane Society of Indianapolis (HSI) to 7929 N. Michigan Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268. Arrangements entrusted to Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel.

Dan and Grant,

I am so sorry to hear of Diana's passing. Her kind heart will always be remembered. I will always keep the memory of her warm smile and positive outlook towards everyone she came in contact with. Being her UPS man was such an honor. Whether it was giving Gracy a treat, or simply talking about the day's events, one thing was evident, family was everything. I'm so glad that I was given the chance to know Diana. God Bless

My twin boys and I will miss Diana. We moved from TN when the boys were 10 months. There was never a day that we did not get a smile and a hello, and she would always ask me how the boys are doing.(and boy are they growing up! they are now 7) Gracie would come over to watch the boys from the gate to our drive, and wonder what was "goin on". We will miss you so much; you were always there with a smile and made the day brighter for me. We will remember you for being a good friend and neighbor.

We will gather to put our arms around one another, and especially around your family , and to say to Grant and Dan and others that you matter to us; your grief has reached into our lives, and we are sad for ourselves and for you. We will gather with broken hearts to do our grief work to end that we might discover both comfort and courage. And we gather to celebrate your life to remember the life that you lived, and to hold it before us today as one utterly unique and significant human life.
Thanks for the memories and the beauty and grace of your life.
