Don Arvin Obituary

Don H. Arvin 75, Indianapolis, passed away February 23, 2007. He was born May 10, 1931 in Evansville to Harlan and Mary Arvin. Don served two years in the Naval Reserves. Later, he served two years on active duty for the Navy, having been stationed in Naples, Italy where he spent the first two of 50 years of marriage with his wife, Jan. Don was sales manager for Indiana BellAmeritech Yellow Pages for 35 years; he retired in 1990. Don and Jan were charter members of St. Barnabas Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Monsignor Downey Council #3660. Don was an avid IU and Colts fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. Don also enjoyed reading and traveling. Survivors include his wife, Jan Arvin; son, Donald J. Arvin and his wife, Amy; sister, Carolyn Weber; and grandchildren, Phillip, Kaleigh, and Jonathan. His sisters, Mary Jane and Betty Ann, and also his grandson, Daniel, preceded him in death. Calling will be held from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, February 26 at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Rd. 135. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 27 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, with calling there from 10 a.m. until the time of mass. He will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
