Don. Pfanstiel Obituary

Don Pfanstiel 70, Noblesville, passed away, February 16, 2007 at Riverview Hospital. Don was born in St. Louis, MO on June 13, 1936 to Carl & Irene Pfanstiel. He spent his youth in St. Louis where he and his dad were avid St. Louis Browns fans, and later became the best of St. Louis Cardinals fans. He graduated from Normandy High School in 1954. Don graduated with an engineering degree from Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy, Rolla in 1958. He was with the U.S. Army 4th Battalion, 2nd Regiment, Fort Leonard Wood, MO in 1959. He married Shirley Rosenberg of Minneapolis, MN. They moved to Wabash, IN where Don had a 30-year career with Wabash Alloys, serving as Vice-President of Sales for most of those years. Don was an avid golfer and enjoyed many good times with several golfing buddies over the years. He volunteered countless hours coaching youth baseball and basketball. In 2002, he and Shirley retired to Noblesville, IN, and recently celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary. They are members of the First United Methodist Church in Noblesville. Don was president of Feather Cove Home Owners Association. Mr. Pfanstiel is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Wendy (Jeff) Sauerteig of Arcadia; sons: Steven (Amy) Pfanstiel of Fishers and David (Lisa) Pfanstiel of Atlanta, GA; and grandchildren: Tyler, Madison, Austin, and Carlie Sauerteig; Courtney, Nicholas, Ryan, and Luke Pfanstiel; & Taylor and Sarah Grace Pfanstiel. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Erwin & Robert. Services will be held on Monday, February 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville. Friends may call on Sunday, February 18, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Kidney Fund.
