Gilbert L. Foreman Sr.

Col. Gilbert "Gib" Leroy Foreman, Sr. USAF (Ret.) 86, Dillsboro, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 in Dearborn County Hospital. He was born Feb. 12, 1920 in Hope, IN to Alpha and Eva Klipsch Foreman. On May 3, 1941 he was married to Evelyn Wilson, she survives. Gib served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years, serving with the 8th Air Force in WWII. Following his retirement, he sold restaurant equipment in the Indianapolis area for a company that he owned, US Slicing Machine Agency. Gib and his wife were members of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Dillsboro for many years. Surviving besides his wife, Evelyn are three children, Gilbert Foreman, Jr., of Friendship, IN, Carolyn (Donald) Jane Earhart of Indianapolis and Carol Alice Foreman of Tenn; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, William Foreman and one sister, Eleanor Hanson. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Ulrich-Filter Funeral Home, Dillsboro, IN, with visitation there from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thurs. Friends are invited to attend the graveside service in the Gothic Chapel at Crown Hill Cemetery on Friday at 2 p.m. Memorials may be given to the charity of donors choice.
