Irene M. Farmer

Irene Minetta Harting Farmer 93, Greenfield, died August 18, 2004 in Riverwalk Village Nursing Home. She was born August 15, 1911 in Hancock County. She was a graduate of Mt. Comfort High School in 1930. Also, Mrs. Farmer and her husband owned Farmers Mowers and Saw Service for 25 years. They were married for 65 years. Irene loved to garden. She also played the organ for her church, Bells Chapel Church of God, for 50 years and taught Sunday School. She is preceded in death by her husband Edwin Farmer, 1996; brothers, Charles Edward and Carl Harting; sisters Julia Raab and Bertha Whiteside. Survivors include her sons, James E. Farmer and Robert E. Farmer, both of Greenfield; daughter, Lois Ann Stoner, of Plainfield; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 21 in Hendryx Mortuary, 11636 East Washington St. Chapel. Calling is Friday, August 20 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers or Diabetes Association.
