James Arneson Obituary

Father James E. Arneson

70, of South Pasadena, FL, passed away on October 23rd, 2011. He was born on April 15th, 1941 to the late Edward and Gertrude Arneson of Indianapolis, later Beech Grove, Indiana.

He was ordained a Roman Catholic priest on May 7th, 1967 and said his first mass on May 14th, 1967 at the Church of the Most Holy Name of Jesus in Beech Grove. He served as assistant pastor at St. Joseph in Shelbyville and St. Mary in New Albany, and became pastor at St. Joseph and St. Anne Mission, both in Jennings County, where he stayed until he was granted early retirement in 1994.

He was preceded in death by parents, his sister Becky Wright and his brother Joseph Arneson. Survivors include his sister Ann, and eight nieces and nephews.
