James Jordan Obituary

James Robert "Bob" Jordan

91, passed away on January 19, 2013. A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, he was born on March 6, 1921, to James J. and Belle O. Jordan.

Bob, a US Navy veteran and a 1947 graduate of Purdue University with an electrical engineering degree, retired from IPL after 36 years. A member of Pleasant Run UCC, he served as a trustee and a deacon. Bob was a member of the Central Indiana chapter of the American Theater Organ Society, the Indianapolis Civil War Round Table and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Todd Jordan, he is survived by sons, David (Maureen) and Alan (Kathy) Jordan and 6 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Pleasant Run United Church of Christ, 59 East Pleasant Run Pkwy South Drive, Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Pleasant Run UCC or the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
