James Leroy "Jim" Reardon

Indianapolis - James Leroy "Jim" Reardon, 78, Indianapolis, passed away at his home December 31, 2020. Jim was born May 25, 1942, in Effingham, Illinois, to the late Leonard and Betty (Ervin) Reardon.

Jim graduated from Effingham High School, where he excelled in football. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1966-1967 in the 1st Cavalry Division and was honorably discharged as a sergeant. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, Bronze Star with Valor, Silver Star, Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Armed Forces Service Medal, and two Overseas Service Bars. He was most proud of earning the Marksmanship Medal with Expert of the M-14 Rifle. Over the years, he owned floor covering stores and most recently was the owner of Reardon's Carpet Co., Inc. Jim enjoyed all kinds of sports, especially golf, in more recent years. He will always be remembered as a generous and quietly kind person.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Reardon.

Survivors include two daughters, Kelly (Rick) Brozak of Pittsboro, Indiana and Robin Reardon (Wes Torzeski) of Oroville, Washington; grandchildren, Braden, Camden, Londyn, and Adisyn Brozak; brothers, Mike (Patricia) Reardon of Ft. Worth, Texas, Duane (Marcia) Reardon of Altamont, Illinois, Tom (Phyllis) Reardon of Altamont, Illinois; sister, Linda (Mike) Phillips of Robinson, Illinois; many nieces and nephews.
