Jerry Johns Obituary

Jerry Wayne Johns

81, formerly of Lansing, MI and Tipton, IN, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on April 29, 2015 at home. He was born on December 19, 1933, to the late Wayne and Agnes Johns in Lansing, Michigan.  He graduated from Lansing Eastern High School, class of 1951, and attended Michigan State University.  He was married 63 years to Betty J. (Beutler) Johns who survives.

Employed by FMC Corp, John Bean Division, in Lansing and was transferred to FMC Corp., Fire Fighting Apparatus division as sales manager to Tipton, Indiana, in 1966.  He worked 30 years for FMC Corp.  He traveled extensively in the United States and Europe.  From 1986 - 1991, he worked with his son Brad as a principal partner in American Marketing Group in Indianapolis.  He moved to Indianapolis in 1988 where he was employed by Low Cost Pharmacy and from 1995-2001 G&M Paint and Supply, retiring in 2001.

He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry E. Johns in 1977.  He is survived by wife, Betty; 3 sons, Randolph, Bradley (Karen) and Stacey; 3 grandchildren, Andrew (Heather), Matthew and Janna Johns.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church with a visitation at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Tipton, IN.

Memorial contributions may be made to Second Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by Leppert Mortuary.
