Johnnie F. Thomason
70, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011. He was born in Indianapolis, on November 16, 1941 to Johnnie V. and Mary C. (DeBruler) Thomason.
Johnnie proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of American Legion Post #79 and worked as a courier for Speedway Auto Parts in his retirement from trucking.
Johnnie was a kind and generous man who always put others before him self. He loved gardening and working in his garage.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Becky Thomason and children, John William and Mary Alice Thomason.
Johnnie is survived by his daughter, Pamela Sue (Steve) Bolyard; grandchildren, Bailey, Jeremy and Ryan Dawson; sisters, Judy (John) Snyder, Betty (Art) Mulherin and Laura (Mike) Chaparro and best friend, Charles Ottinger.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Family Funeral Care . Interment will follow at West Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 5th at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richard L. Roudebush VAMC, Voluntary Services in Johnnie's name.
