Joni Brown Obituary

Joni Marie Brown

55, of Tipton, died Monday, May 18, 2015 at I.U. Health - Tipton Hospital. She was born June 14, 1959 in Indianapolis to James & Jeannine (Calloway) Graham. On October 29, 1983 she married Michael Brown and he survives.

Joni was a registered nurse, retiring after working at St. Vincent Hospital. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and a former volunteer at Tipton Community Schools. She was a graduate of Warren Central High School in 1977 and the IUPUI School of Nursing in 1985.

Survivors besides her husband Mike include her mother, Jeannine Johnson and husband David of Tipton; two children, Rachel Kathleen Brown and Evan Michael Brown, both of Tipton; one brother and one sister, James K. Graham, Marion and Jani Aiken and husband Chris, Houston, Texas; one granddaughter, Lillian Estelle Jones; nieces and nephews Aaron & Joel Aiken and Kristen and Adam Benoit.   She was preceded in death by her father.

A memorial service for Joni will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1385 S. Main Street, Tipton, with Pastor Kurt Gremel presiding. The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service Friday.  Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton, is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emanuel Lutheran Church.

"As her loving husband, I can only hope and pray that everyone in life has an opportunity to experience the love we had for each other and the deepest of love she had for her children and family.  It was so special and we will forever miss our beloved Joni."
