Joseph Etchison Obituary

Joseph B. Etchison Age 66, of Zionsville, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2005. He was born January 3, 1939 to John H. and Helen Jackson Etchison who preceded him in death as well as his brother, Gordon. He graduated in the first class of North Central High School where he was First Captain of both the football and baseball teams. A graduate of Ball State University and a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Joe was a retired United States Air Force Captain having served during the Vietnam War. Joe worked for 30 years in the automobile industry. He also coached baseball in various levels, winning the state championship in the Connie Mack league in 1978. His greatest pleasures were playing golf and being with his family. He was married for 30 years to his wife, Darrell, who survives, as well as his son, Scott (Jamie), daughters, Shari Mieth (Bob) and Julie Kidwell (Jed) and beloved grandchildren, Daniel & Jessica Mieth, Wesley & Curtis Kidwell. Also surviving are son, Michael and daughter, Becky, from a previous marriage, his sister, Mildred Kleyla (Ralph) as well as several nephews and nieces. Joe was respected and loved by everyone who knew him. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, October 7 from 4:00 p.m - 7:00 p.m. at Zionsville United Methodist Church. Arrangements entrusted to: A.R.N. Cremation Services.
