Kenneth Swain Obituary
56, of Greenwood, passed away on April 27, 2017. Kenneth was born on August 9, 1960 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Jeanne (Miles) and Thomas Swain. He attended Center Grove High School and graduated in Honolulu, Hawaii. Kenneth served in the United States Navy on the USS Constellation.
He owned and operated SwainCo. Crawl Space and Basement Repair in Greenwood, Indiana and was known as the Grandfather of Crawl Spaces. Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family and especially going to his grandkids ball games.
He is survived by his wife, Natalie Swain; four children, Adam Swain, Josh Swain, Amanda Smith, Michaela Swain; three step-children, Wes Simpson, Natasha Simpson, Marcus Hogue; sister, Luanne Kempf; 10 grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Faith Community Church 6801 S. East Street, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of Kenneth's life will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at church. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel.

I was in the Navy with Ken, in VF-211. I haven’t seen nor spoken to him in Forty years. Ken was always a good friend to me, back then, and I’m very sad to hear of his passing. Ken was a solid dude and I offer my sincere condolences and prayers to his family.

Ken worked on our crawlspace back in 1992. At that time the company was Swain Moisture Control. I called him in 2016 because we were having water problems. He came out and explained that his company had a new name and the old company was no longer in existence. He went into the crawl and looked things over. He then told me that the crew he had back then had made an installation mistake. He brought his own crew out and fixed the problem the next day, free of charge. That's integrity, that was Ken Swain.

Adam and family, very sorry about your loss. I'm one of your customers, You all were very helpful and understanding in our dealings. Ken was very personable. He came out to check out the job, and sent me a selfie with my cat on his shoulder. Great guy, huge loss. I'm sure the hereafter is now a better place.

I will always remember Ken as a cheerful, honest man that I trusted. A hard worker that built a company from the ground up into a highly respected leader in the field. Ken was a joy to be around, and was such a positive person. I was blessed to reconnect with Ken and catch up on old times this last summer.
