Loyal David Cole

- - Loyal David Cole, beloved husband of Carol Williams Cole, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday Jan 27, 2019, at the age of 85. He was born in Rupert, Idaho, on May 23, 1933 to Loyal Honri Cole and Stella Matilda Noble. He was the eldest of six siblings.

David was raised in Rupert, where his grandpa was the county sheriff, and where he worked on various farms. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Afterwards, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the New England mission, where he met and taught his future wife, Carol Williams. After returning home, he attended Brigham Young University, where he and Carol were reacquainted, and were married on March 14, 1959.

They had five children before settling in Pittsboro, Indiana in 1968. David worked at the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in 1992.

He was an avid scouter, receiving many rewards, including the Silver Beaver Award. He was an active life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served in many capacities, including three missions with his wife in the Indiana Indianapolis mission.

David loved the outdoors and teaching young men through various scouting and church programs. He enjoyed watching his children in their various athletic events, school plays, and band performances. His enjoyment continued with his much-loved grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Laura Cole and Merle Blauer, and grandchildren, Justin and Anna Cole.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Williams Cole, and his six children, Mark (Laura), Michelle Cole (David Graham), Scott (Jennifer), Shawn (Deborah), Darren (Lisa), his adopted son, Juan (Gladys) Escobar; brothers, Russell (Sally), Frank (Gayle), sisters Betty (Steve)Hunt, Norma (Clay)Wyatt; 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

His family would like to thank their numerous family and friends for their love and support and invite them to celebrate the life of Loyal David Cole.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 pm, February, 9, 2019 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 10518 E. County Road 600 North, Indianapolis, IN 46234, with viewing there from 11 am, until the time of the Funeral.
