Maxine Legener Obituary
93, of Carmel, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015. Maxine was born January 29, 1922 to the late Vernon and Katherine Sarles, who owned the general store in Grantsburg, IN. Maxine's education began in a one-room schoolhouse in Grantsburg. She went on to be her class president all four years at English High School.
Maxine was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and was a former member of Woodland Country Club of Carmel and Plantation Golf Course of Venice, FL.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, May 8 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Flanner and Buchanan - Carmel. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 10655 N. Haverstick Road Carmel, IN 46033.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 61 years, John; children, Joseph (fiancée, Virginia) Legener of Atlanta, GA and Mary (husband, Wyatt) Twilleager of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew, Sarah and Jason; 7 great grandchildren, including Devin who lives locally.
