Michael Branam Obituary

Michael L. Branam 57, Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010. He was born on April 27, 1954 in Indianapolis to Jack and Carolyn (Penrod) Branam. He married Kathleen Swallow on December 14, 1988. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Branam; sons, Michael L. Branam, II and Dennis Manning; sisters, Marcia Herald, Kelly Branam, and Carrie (Steve) Brock; "mother", Sylvia "Donnie" Parks; uncles, M. Jack Penrod and Larry Penrod; and his loving dog, Nigel. Michael was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post #252 in Greenwood. Michael was a Martial Arts Sensei in Indianapolis and Germany. He was a 5th Dan blackbelt, and a member of the P.K.C and U.S.K.K. He was loved by many the students he taught over the years. He was employed as a technician at Heritage Environmental Services in Indianapolis. His loves included scuba diving, bowling, and photography. Visitation will take place from 1 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Southport Chapel, 7520 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis. A funeral service will take place Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the Clayton Cemetery, Clayton, IN.
