Nancy L. Combs Rabago
70, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 22, 1943 to Gilbert and Lucille Combs. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She is survived by her son, Tanae Rabago; daughter, LeAyer Collins; grandchildren, Courtney and Brian Collins; great-grandchildren, Gia and Beck; and sister Ann (Mark) Ziegler. Predeceased by her parents and brothers, Gilbert and Thomas Combs. Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation from 1:30 p.m. until the service on Friday, May 24, 2013 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Rockford Chapel , 4311 N. My ex-husband, Jeff and I were good friends with Nancy's brother, Gib. We always loved this family and the joy they had. I am sure Nancy's passing left a hole in their hearts. I hope they are doing well as Nancy would want the same for her loved ones.

Nancy Le Ayer Rabago is my mother. My name is Le Ayer. I was not able to see my mother before she passed. I did talk to her often and was fortunate to have gotten to wish her a happy mothers day and tell her I loved her for the last time on mothers day before she passed. As heartbroken as I am, and as much as I miss her, I am comforted by the fact that I know that she is healthy and whole again, surrounded by the people she loves the most celebrating their reunion. I know she is finally at peace and that she is waiting patiently for the day we are together again. My mother will always be my hero and I am grateful everyday that I was blessed to have her as my mother. I love you mommy and I will carry you forever in the velvet folds of my heart. Dear Ann -
I am so sorry to read that Nancy has passed away. I have so many fond memories of you, Nancy, and your entire family - your parents were wonderful people, Tom and Gib were such great brothers! I was so fond of your father; I will never forget him. During that time in my life your family made me feel included - they were so warmhearted and welcoming, and I was glad to be there. We had many uproarious times!
I will always remember Nancy as beautiful, funny, a sweet and loving lady. I hope that in time your memories will ease this sadness and loss. Those who go before us live on in our hearts and once there, we never lose them - we can summon them at any time.
Please take care; you are in my thoughts, and again, my deepest sympathy that your sweet Nancy has left us.

I used to chat with Nancy in the dining room of the care center where she resided and where I work as a dietary aide. I'm glad I became acquainted with her before she passed on. Nancy's soul is in my prayers. May she rest in peace with God.
