Norman Hardesty Obituary

Norman C. Hardesty 85, Indianapolis, passed away April 6, 2004. He was born June 24, 1918 in Indianapolis to Curtis and Sylvia Elder Hardesty. For 47 years he was employed as a jeweler at various jewelry stores, retiring in 1983 from Smith's Jewelers. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. Norman married Ruth L. Powers Hardesty on November 23, 1939 in Indianapolis, she survives. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, with calling from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 9. Interment: Calvary Cemetery. Survivors include his wife; daughters Sandy (Jim) Carson, Beech Grove, Norma Jane (Danny) Wheeler, Greenwood, Janet (Larry) Taylor, Greenwood; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters Nona McGuffey, Indianapolis and Julia Hardesty, California. He was preceded in death by sisters Bonnie Kelly and Mary Parker; brothers Ivan and George Hardesty.
