Patricia Scheurer Obituary

Patricia Jane Scheurer 90, passed away on January 25, 2011. Born on November 13, 1920 in Canton, OH, she was the daughter of Joseph Felix and Albertina Abramson Felix, who emigrated from Sweden. Patricia was raised in South Bend and graduated from IU School of Business, where she was a member of Alpha Chi sorority. She came to Indianapolis at the dawn of WWII to join the Red Cross. She met her beloved husband, William, at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C. After residing in Middleton, OH, they moved to Indianapolis, IN, where William worked for Disabled American Veterans. Patricia and William owned "Patricia's Antiques" for several years. Patricia was an original member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and its' Women's Club, various Bible study groups and the Antiquarium Club. She was a gifted painter, and loved to garden and read. She was extremely quick-witted and fun. Patricia loved her children and grandchildren very deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; and her brother, Ted Felix. She is survived by her children, William E. (Susan) Scheurer Jr., Michael J. (Dana) Scheurer, Susan M. Carrico, Patricia J. (Raymond) Vanlanot and Elizabeth I. Scheurer. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, January 28, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 71st & Keystone. Services will be held Saturday, January 29, at 9:30 a.m. in the mortuary, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St., Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto, followed by interment at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
