Richard "Dick" Warrick
66, of Indianapolis, died on November 13, 2014 at Manor Care Prestwick in Avon after a courageous battle against cancer. Mr. Warrick was born on March 13, 1948 in Indianapolis, to the late Milton R. Warrick and Elizabeth (Shepard) Warrick. Mr. Warrick graduated from Brownsburg High School in 1968. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, as a Combat Photographer. Richard worked for the State of Indiana, as a Heavy Equipment Operator and for the City of Indianapolis, as a Planner retiring in 2006.
A car enthusiast and race fan, he had tickets to the Indy 500 and Brickyard 400 and enjoyed cheering on Helio Castroneves and Tony Kanaan, Dale Earnhardt and Tony Stewart.
Mr. Warrick was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Warrick. He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver of 35 years, Laura (Pyron) Warrick; son, James (Stephanie) Warrick; daughter, Katie Warrick and grandson, Mike King.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in Matthews Mortuary , Brownsburg, IN, with visitation from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014.
