Robert Althoff Obituary

Robert J. Althoff 38, Danvers, IL, passed away at 5 p.m. September 6, 2007 at his home. He was born April 5, 1969 in Danville, IN to Bernie Althoff and Sandy Putnam Althoff. He married Lisa Lefler on July 18, 1992 in Brownsburg. She survives. Other survivors include his parents, Bernie and Sandy Althoff of Danville; sons, Alex and Matthew Althoff of Danvers, IL; sisters, Lisa (Rod) Richards of Richmond, IN and Patty Althoff of Brownsburg, IN; brothers, Rick (Sally) Althoff of Noblesville, IN and Jeff Althoff of Phoenix, AZ; in-laws, Jim (Dorothy) Lefler of Castlewood, VA and sister-in-law, Laura (Wes) Baker of Camby, IN; six nieces and nephews. Robert was an avid biker, runner, hiker and an all around outdoorsman. He was a child of God, loving husband, father, son, loyal friend and a devoted scout. He was an Eagle Scout and Scout Master for Troop 27 Danvers. Robert was a 1987 graduate of Brownsburg High School and a 1992 graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette. Robert worked at State Farm Insurance Company as a Systems Analyst for 15 years. He was a member of St. Patrick Church of Merna Bloomington. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 10 at St. Patrick Church of Merna, Bloomington, with Father Gerald Ward. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. (CST) Sunday, September 9 with a prayer service at 12:45 p.m. at Calvert and Metzler Memorial Home, and also Monday, September 10 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to the Educational Trust Fund for Alex and Matthew Althoff or the Boy Scout Troop 27 of Danvers.
