Cuz until we meet again on the other shore, know that I will always love you! Growing up with you was an awesome experience - it was like having you as a brother and cousin at the same time.
We spent some great years together at family reunions and during visits to the Indy 500. My life is all the better for having spent time with you in laughter, adolescent growing pains, and spiritual growth. You are now in the arms of the Lord where you shall abide in sweet peace for eternity. No more heartache, sickness, or sorrow - just JOY, JOY,JOY in the presence of the Lord! Although I'm grieved over your passing, I can rejoice in the knowledge that you are forever at peace in your NEW HOME! Love You! Cousin Cookie

Bro. Cooley and family,
To say that you will be missed is truly an understatement! You have always been in my opinion, a man with character, with style and of course substance. With your God given talents, you were able to make a difference and alter the lives of many of our young black males and females. You were their father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, friend and mentor to the many. You were truly that role model that all kids needed to see. Your temperament, your genuine personality, your love for kids, your suave demeanor, your OG persona, along with your million dollar smile were just a few of your great qualities.
You were truly a blessing to me when I became the principal at Julian Coleman Middle School (110) in 1997. You brought these same qualities to the table. With your help and dedication we were able to turn a troubled school into one of the better middle schools within IPS. I always told you, that you were a "blessing."
Though your time on earth was truly well spent, the Lord needed a Bob Cooley to continue too mold, shape and water young minds in his heavenly school. "A true educator's job never ends my brother, it just continues."
You will be missed my brother but not forgotten!

Robert my fondest memories : You took me to my Senior Prom you looked so handsome in your Tux. You could really dance. We had a ball together. I remember walking to classes with you at Wood High School. You and I always had some very loud debates. My sister Renaye would always say you and Robert Cooley are always talking loud in the hall!
Love now and forever your friend.

Although I didnt know Robert very well I thought when I met him that he was one of the kindest and most considerate men I have met. I liked him instantly. I know he will be missed greatly in the Lucas home. I pray he is safely in the arms of Jesus today.
