Robert "Bob" V. Deal

82, of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away October 4, 2015. Bob was born September 23, 1933 to Robert L. and Ludmilla R. (Zore) Deal. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic School, and Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, IN. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anderson, SC. Bob was an avid race fan having spent the early part of his career working at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He followed his love of racing throughout his career working in the automotive industry, and in retirement as a consultant.

Bob was preceded in death by parents; his son, Todd E. Deal; grandson, Todd A. Smith, and brother, Ronald J. Deal. Bob is survived by his wife, Janet Robinson Deal, of Anderson, SC; son, Robert C. Deal of San Francisco, CA; daughters, Wynn A. Volkmer of Westminster, MD, and Lindsay J. (Sean) Dohmen of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Rachel N. (Leonard) FilemyrTonui of Owings Mill, MD, Brittany W. Volkmer of Rockville, MD, and Jacob Dohmen of Chicago, IL; four great grandchildren; siblings, Doris M. (Fred) Gafner of Greenfield, WI, Thomas L. (Catherine) Deal of Indianapolis, IN, and Victoria S. (Rodney) Farmer of Indianapolis, IN, and sister-in-law, Shirley A. Deal of Indianapolis, IN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Christopher Catholic Church, 5301 W. 16th St., Speedway, IN. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the research and discovery of the cure or treatment for Macular Degeneration in Robert V. Deal's name would be valued by the family. American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061.

Bob was a wonderfully comforting friend to me and my family for many years. My Dad especially loved those weekly car rides from Bob the year my Dad had a heart attack and was mostly bedridden. I will miss you forever Bob.
