Robert Ladavac Obituary

Robert M. Ladavac

Indianapolis - Robert M. Ladavac passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018, during a beautiful sunrise just one week past his 79TH birthday.

Bob was born in Cleveland, OH, to Mirko and Violet Ladavac on July 13, 1939. He spent his childhood and high school days in Cleveland. He was offered a scholarship to play football for Ohio University and graduated from the University with a degree in Economics. Bob proudly served in the United States Army and was discharged in 1969.

He was in the Information Technology industry for most of his adult career associated with Honeywell, Prime Computer and Computervision.

Bob ran the Mini Marathon several times; rode the Hilly Hundred; took yoga and Pilates lessons, and briefly played golf. Bob's true passion was playing poker. He loved the camaraderie with all his friends each week. He also enjoyed the conversations every Saturday with his Starbucks buddies.

For all those who knew and loved Bob, we will miss his enthusiasm for everything and everyone, his insatiable curiosity, his zest for life and that wonderful laugh.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy (Rindt); son, Chris Housefield; granddaughter, Gabrielle Housefield; brother, Ron (Emma); sister-in-law, Lynda Majewski, brother-in-law, Joseph Majewski, MD; sister-in-law, Katie Rindt, brother-in-law, John Rindt; four nephews their wives and children; The Samberg/Katz/Miller families; dear friends, Alan Pyle and Chuck Potter; and four surrogate grandchildren, Bradley, Katie, Kristi and Brennan Legue.

Calling will be from 1 - 3 p.m. August 4, 2018 at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, 418 East 34th Street, Indianapolis, IN. Services will follow in the sanctuary. Our great friend Bob left us way to soon, but in his short time here on earth he lived, laughter, traveled, shared all his funny jokes and warm smiles with more people that lived much longer than he. He had a full life! We were lucky enough to share some of the wonderful trips to Las Vegas, Fl, Hawaii, Europe and weekends in Cincinnati with our dear friend and lovely wife Kathy. We also enjoyed a few five star restaurants during those travels. However, what Bob loved more than telling jokes & getting laughs to cheer you up was playing poker with his buddies. That was his passion. We are already missing our wonderful Bob. Football season is coming up, one of Bobs favorite times of the year. We will miss the phone calls during the game but we know he is in Gods Hands and no longer in pain. Rest In Peace our Good Friend.

Poker and racquetball brought Bob and I together. Spent endless hours with Bob at the felt table, a fierce competitor with excellent skills, at both games. The world has lost a memorable man. May the Ladavac Family be comforted by the incredible memories of Bob.

To a wonderful man who was so loved. We were the lucky ones who knew him and his beloved family. This world will not be the same with him not here. My heart is broken, he was a gift. Kathy,we will all be together again.

There will never be anyone like Bob Ladavac - he was and always will be my friend! What fun memories I have of times and days gone by. So handsome, loved life, loved cars, loved sports, loved his family and friends, loved his Kathy! His journey was far too short but Im so privileged to have walked part of it with him. Rest In Peace, Bob - you will be missed!

Robert (I use Bob) was a wonderful man who I enjoyed having lunch with periodically. He was friendly, effervescent, joyful, tender and kind. He was quick with a joke and loved talking about all things especially cars with me. I miss his laughter and his friendship. He will be missed.

Robert, or Bob as I called was a decent sensitive and loving man who was very family oriented. He was a consummate poker player who was proud of his many achievements. I has been my pleasure knowing him and his wife Cathy. They were a handsome and decent couple
