Robert W. Murray Jr.

PFC Robert W. Murray, Jr. 21, Westfield, died Thursday, April 28, during combat in Iraq. He is survived by his mother, Katrina Murray; father, Robert Murray, Sr. and his wife, Stacey; sisters Nichole and Stacy Murray; and brother, Aaron Murray. Murray was born February 23, 1984 in Fort Campbell, KY. A 2002 graduate of Westfield High School, he attended Indiana State University where he studied aviation management. He was a licensed pilot and musician. Murray joined the Army in March 2004 and was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, in Fort Carson, CO. He was shipped to Kuwait in late February and recently deployed to Iraq. He will be remembered as a hero who proudly served his country. Services will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday with the funeral services and full military honors on Saturday at 11 a.m. Contributions may be made to the Westfield Educational Foundation, 18250 North Union, Westfield, Ind., 46074, in lieu of flowers.
