Roberta Walsh Obituary

Roberta "Bobbe" Cody Walsh 78, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2006. She was born December 10, 1927 to the late John and Fern Cody in Tell City, Indiana. She was a graduate of Tell City High School and later attended the University of Evansville. She was a resident of Indianapolis since 1955 and married John R. Walsh in 1965. Mrs. Walsh was life member of St. Margaret's Guild, a former board member of Crossroads Rehabilitation Center Guild, Park Tudor Mothers Association and the Lebanon Children's Home. Her other civic contributions were as a volunteer of the 500 Festival, Historic Landmark's Foundation of Indiana and the Indianapolis Museum of Art. She was a member of Meridian Hills Country Club, the Columbia Club and Five Seasons Country Club. Mrs. Walsh is survived by her husband of 41 years, John Walsh; her son John R. "J.R." Walsh Jr., daughter in law, Gina Forsythe Walsh and sister, Alice Farley of Sacramento, CA., as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Stewart Cody, John Cody and Wathen Cody, as well as her sister, Martha Nadeau. Friends and family are invited to call at Leppert Life Story Funeral Home, Nora Chapel, 740 E. 86th St., Indianapolis, on Sunday, January 8 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Meridian Street United Methodist Church, 5500 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, on Monday, January 9 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Margaret's Guild, Meridian Street United Methodist Church or Park Tudor School.
