Rowena J. Jenkins Whiteford-Nottingham
Passed away December 13,2011,at the age of 69 in Seattle WA. surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren after a lengthy illness. " Ro" recently relocated to Seattle after spending three years in Indianapolis with her sister Patricia and brother -in-law , Robert. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas C. and Esta C. Jenkins. A retired R.N. Ro loved nursing and the many patients she encountered in the Seattle area. While growing up in Indianapolis she attended St. Mary's Academy and later moved to Los Angeles and Seattle. Ro received her RN from Highline Community College in Washington St. and attended University of Washington in Seattle. In addition to nursing she was a gourmet cook who loved catering family and friends' weddings and parties. Her many friends will remember her for her sweet spirit, love for her precious dog- Thor, music, reading and devotion to her children and grandchildren. While in Indianapolis she was a member of Pike Township Lions Club and Traders Point Christian Church. Ro is survived by her children Kimberley (Joe) Casey, Edwin (Mari) Peterson, Kristin (Ian) Peterson-Wedmore, Eric Peterson and his partner (Katie Wallace); 6 grandchildren, Kenn and Stefan Peterson, Violet Wallace-Peterson, Daniel, Jennifer and Michael Wiggins, sister, Patricia (Robert) Price, several nephews and nieces.
Memorial service will be held at Traders Point Christian Church on Saturday January 14, 2012 at 3:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to "CR" at Traders Point Christian Church, PO Box 78518 Indianapolis, IN 46278 or Pike Township Lions Club for L.C.I.F. at 1825 E. 52nd St. Indianapolis 46205.

So sorry to hear of your loss, wish I had known sooner, I haven't seen Rowena for many years, 1960 I think much to long.God bless all of you in your loss
