Ruth Wood Obituary

Ruth Mae Wood, 83, of Speedway, Indiana passed away at home March 27, 2003, after a long illness. She was one of six girls born to Otto C. and Bertha (Allee) Wood on November 9, 1919 in Pennsylvania. She worked at the Army and Navy Hospitals in California. She also worked at Methodist Hospital, I.U. Hospital on the kidney transplant ward and retired from the VA Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1978. She was a member of the West Side Nazarene Church which she joined 70 years ago at the age of 14. Preceeding her in death were her parents; sisters Laura Wood, Mary Barnaby and Doris Miller. Survivors include sisters and there spouses Jane (Ferris) Baker of West Milton, OH and Judith (Philip) Johnson of Lynn, Indiana. A very special friend Mary Alice Wilson of Speedway. Indiana, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Memorial service will be Saturday, March 29 at 1 p.m. at Conkle Funeral Home, Speedway Chapel, with calling one hour before service time. Officiating will be Pastor Brian Delbridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Side Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.
