Vickie Doherty Obituary
Indianapolis - Vickie Kay Doherty, age 78, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021. Vickie was born on August 16, 1942 in Indianapolis to the late Claude J. Little and Mary K. Falender. She graduated from North Central High School and attended Indiana University. Vickie married James E. Doherty on October 30, 1965.
Vickie was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She was a former Miss Indiana and represented Indiana in the Miss Universe Pageant. She was a part time writer and published several articles on American Education. Vickie was a full time wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Vickie is survived by her loving husband, James "Jim" Doherty; daughters, Tracy (Daniel) Dippel and Annie Heber; grandchildren, Jacob (David) Stuart, Katharine "Kat" Stuart, Olivia "Livy" Stuart, Benjamin "Ben" Heber, Elisabeth "Lissa" Heber, Anika Dippel and Mason Balmer; and siblings, Cindie Sartino, William (Laura) Little, Becky Little, Daniel (Sheri) Little and Robert (Belinda) Little. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents; and grandmother, Rosalie Klepfer.
A visitation for Vickie will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E. 71st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46220. A mass of christian burial will take place on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4217 N Central Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46205. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
