Virginia Hyslop Obituary
Resident of Zionsville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. She was 88 years old. She was born in Lebanon, Indiana, to the late William and Jane Bennington. Virginia was an avid quilter and enjoyed caring for her family and friends' children. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 248 and Robert Williams fellowship group. She was known for her loving and giving spirit to all who knew her.
Virginia is survived by her children, Paul Hyslop (Sherry), David Hyslop (Barbara), and Shirley Colvard (Mark); 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Patty Guard, Robert Bennington, Dorla King, Charles Bennington, Raymond Bennington, Charlene Grizzle, and Linda Dawson; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, L. P. (Lee) Hyslop; siblings, Betty Giles, Relda Conway, Eileen Bennington, and Louise Bennington.
Family and friends may gather from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. with Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016 in Flanner and Buchanan-Zionsville, 105 W. Pine St. Zionsville, Indiana. I am greatly saddened to hear of Virginia's passing. I had the pleasure of sitting at a quilting frame with Virginia, learning from her talented hands. I also loved hearing stories of growing up in a large family in Indiana. She had such a kind and generous spirit. Although her health prevented her from coming to Orchard Park Quilters for the past several years, she has never been far from our thoughts and prayers.
My condolences to her family. She was so proud of all of you (we heard lots of stories about her children, grandchildren, and great-grand children.) Virginia will be missed by all who knew her. God bless you.
