ALBERTA P.


age 87, of Harleysville, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at The Birches at Arbour Square. She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin H. Sherman with whom she shared over 55 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Michael Peter Prokopovich and Tekla Anna (Novak) Prokopovich.
Alberta worked as a commercial artist at Sterns Printing in Philadelphia. She enjoyed art and was an avid painter and wood carver. Alberta was a longtime member of the Woodmere Art Museum in Chestnut Hill. She was also very involved with the Longboat Key Art Center in Longboat Key, Florida, where she liked to spend her winters. Alberta loved to travel, and traveled all over the world with her husband. Her true passion was her family and she cherished the time that they spent together.
Alberta is survived by her daughters Joyce Anne Sherman and her husband James H. Pepe, Carol Jeanette Sherman and her husband Joseph E. Paul, Jr.; grandchildren Hollis Sherman-Pepe, Chloe Sherman-Pepe and her husband Jason Mack, Samantha and Chelsea Sherman, Joseph E. Paul, III; great grandchild Evoli Rose Sharp. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son Michael Mark Sherman; brother John Prokop; sisters Gertrude Bunadona and Albina Sikora.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Wayside Chapel, Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions in Alberta's name may be made to the Mont-gomery County S.P.C.A., 19 E. Ridge Pike, P.O. Box 222, Conshohocken, PA 19428-0222. To Joyce and Carol, sending my heart felt condolences to you and your families. Alberta was my favorite cousin and I will miss her radiant smile, her love of family and adventure. She was always ready to help someone in need, her art works will keep her memory alive.
