Just recently saw an old picture of Marilyn with Margie, (my wife), when they visited us in Tiburon, (San Francisco Bay Area), making me also think of Alex too! Miss them all over again!

Think of them randomly at times too.

Shocked and saddened to,(just tonight), learn of Alex and Marilyn's passing, over here in Athens.
Marilyn and Alex were separated from margie and I for long periods of time and distance, but easily picked up where we left off, not missing a beat. Glad one didnt have to bear the loss of the other, although the family's loss is more grievous, losing both this way.
Marilyn & Alex loved people and it showed; God bless and comfort all grieving their passing.

My deepest sympathy to the Kaplan Family.
I knew Alex and Marilyn at GE when they
were making early preparations for their
"retirement". In the years since then
I have seen them often at GE dinners and
Marilyn was often the first to come over
to greet me...even after so many years.
Your parents were wonderful, kind people.
We shall miss them. My thoughts and
prayers are with you.

By the time I met Alex at work, he was close to retirement (although he never really retired). He taught me much and had such patience to explain. He had such wonderful stories of his Army and professional career and always had such a cheerful demeanor. His passing is a loss to all of those who worked with him, and I know that I will never forget him.

I am so sorry for your sudden loss. I keep remembering the silly TNT video of your Dad/Popov singing along with the I-pod. Tune is stuck- we listened to it so many times. I'm also always amazed that an 80+ year old roller bladed! Remember him always like that--youthful, funny, and loving his family. Love you all!

To the family of Alex Kaplan:
Please accept my deepest sympathy for this tragic loss. I started working with Alex shortly after joining GE Aerospace in 1974. He was a mentor to me for many years. Alex spent many hours explaining the workings of some very complicated hardware so I could write software to control the hardware. I always admired Alex for his dedication to the job, and his willingness to work with me and others who were eager to learn. He will be greatly missed.
