I am saddened to hear of the passing of Honorable Alfred DiBona, one of Philadelphia's finest Judges. It was truly an honor to work as his Court Clerk at 1801 Vine Street for several years. Please accept my deepest condolences from the Perrin family to his entire family.

To the DiBona family,

I am sad to hear of Brother Al's passing. I had many good conversations with him at the Alpha Phi Delta dinners when he attended. Even though I was not a lawyer, I always asked Al many questions about the law and courtroom decorum. One time, we talked about traffic tickets. Al said, "I tell my students at Temple Law, if a cop gets out of his car, he's probably going to give you a ticket. If you give him a hard time, you've got no chance of talking your way out of a break. If you're remorseful and cooperative, you might get a break from the cop or no ticket at all." He was right. I took that good advice and it has worked for 35 years. Many times when I am stopped by a cop for a violation, I get no ticket. He was a very interesting man and a wise man. May he rest in peace. Like all the brothers from Beta Delta, sorry to see you go.

So sorry to have heard of Judge DiBona's passing. I was unable to convey my condolences in person because I was out of state. The Judge was a colleague of mine, and I considered him a good friend. My first two days on the bench in criminal court were spent with him, as he attempted to show me the ropes. He also highly recommended that I attend the National Judicial College, which I did on 2 occasions. My deepest condolences to the family on their loss.
