ALVIN WEISS

WEISS ALVIN LEWIS 95, a native of Pottstown, PA, passed away on June 27, 2022, at Horsham Center for Jewish Life in North Wales, PA. Born in Pottstown, PA, on July 19, 1926, Alvin was the son of the late Thomas and Jennie (Klein) Weiss. Alvin graduated from Pottstown Senior High School in 1944, and received his B.A. in 1949 from Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA. He obtained his J.D. from Columbia Law School in NY, in 1952, and was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1953. Alvin was one of the three founding partners of O'Donnell, Weiss & Mattei, P.C. in Pottstown, PA, where he retired in 2004. Giving back to the community was very important to Alvin and he served as past president for Congregation Hesed Shel Emet, Pottstown Regional Public Library, and United Way of Pottstown & Upper Perkiomen Valley. He also served on the Board of Trustees for the Pottstown YMCA and on the Board of Directors for Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Alvin is lovingly remembered by his nephews, Jonathan, Eric, Evan, and Bruce Weiss; and his sister-in-law, Joan Weiss. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his older brother, Sydney Weiss; and his fraternal twin brother, Herbert. A Graveside Service will take place on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at Hanawas Sachem Cemetery, 1177 N. State St., Pottstown, PA 19464. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alvin's memory to Congregation Hesed Shel Emet (Mercy & Truth), PO Box, 272, Pottstown, PA 19464.
