Dearest Sister, Molly,
I miss your beautiful face and ways about you. You always had a lovely way to make me smile and cheer me on. You brought such happiness to our family as well as to friends and neighbors around as you were always a giver to anyone who was ever in need of anything. You are never too far away from my mind that I still keep you tucked inside my heart and hear every word. I know you are in a peaceful place in heaven and we will meet again, dear sister, Molly. Meanwhile, I pray for you and you for me. I love you! Love Cathy

An Internet search for my grade school friend on Marsden Street, Mike
Ditro, turned up the news of Mrs. Ditro's passing in this obituary. I was saddened to hear that she was gone. I didn't know her given first name was Amelia. It seems that the name "Molly" was indelibly affixed to her. Maybe it became a nickname as a child. Maybe she seized it at some point, which wouldn't surprise me.

I lost my own Mom a few years back. I suppose, Mike and little Molly, we've reached the point in our lives of recognizing that mortality is here. When we were playing whiffle ball on Marsden Street -- something Mike and Chris L. always dominated at -- it seemed like we would live forever. Ditto Mrs. Ditro. I remember the lunches with her and little lectures and Mike's vast array of toys. I thought I had a lot, and I did. But so did Mike. Remember the Godzilla and Dracula models.

Mike and Molly, all the best to you. Sounds like one or both of you have kids. Be good to them like your Mom was good to you!

Mike and Molly,
Damn. I was stunned when I heard that your mom passed away. The memories of Marsden St. flooded my head. What a great neighbor. You guys are apart of many childhood events. God Bless your mom. Heaven has gained a true original. It'll never be the same. My guess is that she's already refurnished heaven and repainted the pearly gates.

A Letter to Our Dear Sister, Molly

We know you went straight up to heaven today, dear Molly. Easter's blessings and the resurrection were the timely grace to let us know that God Himself brought you home with Him. We will truly miss your beautiful presence and charm. We know your heart was just too big to continue your journey here. Your love and compassion towards everyone left a special place within our hearts, that well keep open only for you, dear Molly. May you rest in peace knowing that you taught us all how to truly love family first.

You had the biggest heart that touched everyone around you. And you weren't afraid to speak your mind if our hearts weren't in the right place. You roared like a lion underneath your gentle mask of a kitten.

You were the top queen of the family that kept order with passionate communication through the telephone. You kept in touch with all of us. We were your life-line and if anything got in your way, you found another way to get through to us. You were unstoppable in making your intentions clear. And, you remained strong, as your heart was the compass of your soul that moved you through this journey of life, which breathes through us today.

Your passion of love for children was larger-than-life that you stayed on the same level of communication with innocence and child-like wonder. As a child, you didn't like to follow rules. So you allow children to slide by as many things they didn't like, and as many times as they wished.

Whenever there was anyone who was sick or at a loss for anything, you'd be the first one to open your heart and your wallet to help them in whatever way you could. Mommy and daddy bragged about this precious heart of yours that was so, so big! They were right. Your sisters and brothers remained a huge part of your life even after you got married. That Sammy had to adopt your whole family too! You wanted it that way, and he loved you so much, he abides by you.

You thrived giving Michael and Molly the latest toys that were on the market or you couldn't sleep, that your living room was a giant toy box from wall to wall. That's okay, because we learned from you how to give more to our children. However, you only went out and bought more toys, because you had to be the top mom. And you were, Molly!

You were the laughter in our family since as far back as we can remember. You made Mom, Dad and all us kids laugh and laugh until we cried. You were our entertainment of happiness and silliness that kept us young at heart, that we looked forward to hearing your stories every night. I bet you're entertaining mom and dad, and all our loved ones are laughing in heaven with you right now.

There are all kinds of sisters, but there has never been anyone in the whole world that even comes close to you! With all our tears, until we meet with you and our loved ones in heaven again, dearest beautiful sister, Molly. We love you!

Big Mol! I will never forget all that this woman did for me as a child. She was a second mohter to me and I am so thankful to have been a part of her life. She made the BEST Sunday dinners and taught me and Molly a thing or two growing up! May your memories bring you comfort during this sad time. So sorry for your loss . Love to you Sammy, Molly and Michael and your entire family. Tammy
