I went to Hallahan High school class of 1976 with Amy. We were besties the whole four years. I had no idea she passed. I was sad to hear this. We shared many fun times at school. I often think of her which brought me to find out of her passing. She was one of a kind. Nicest person you would ever want to know. To this day I miss those fun times we shared in high school. May God bless her.

Dear Little Amy,

It's very difficult to put into words the amount of sorrow and sympathy I feel for you in this heartbreaking time; And although the battle began long ago, the loss seeming almost inevitable, nothing would have been sufficient in preparing you for this moment.

Amy, I can remember you talking about your mom during our Kairos retreat. You spoke so highly of her. It seems so long ago, but I remember it well because I learned so much about her (and from her) that day. In her life, your mother was a devoted wife, an ideal mother and a lifetime friend! (remember how she sent my mom a sympathy card when our dog died...that is how sweet and considerate she was) She possessed all of the qualities that I only hope to one day possess, but I know she has passed them on to you and your siblings. From the moment I heard your speech and the more I learned about your mom through the years, the stronger my conviction became that she was dealt a terrible hand in this game of life. She deserved better than to struggle the way she had to, but she saw in you, her family, that every moment was worth fighting for... she had such strength!

Your family seems like relatives of sorts to me; always around at the holidays, working or shopping at Hank's, and even being loud :-) If there is anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask. You know I'll always be here!

As a result of the long-lasting, beautiful friendship shared between Amy and my mom, I have my oldest friend in the world. I am so grateful for that. I can only hope and pray that Amy and I have the patience & love that our mothers shared to continue our journey through life together as they did.

When I look back to my childhood, Amy is part of my fondest memories. She will always hold a special place in my heart.

Though I did not know your Mom, Jim. I know you through Zach. The greatest compliment we can give to a Mom, is that she did a wonderful job.
She is at peace, with no more pain. Our prayer is that and you and your family find peace in all the beautiful moments that you had to share with her. Our door is always open.

Amy and family,

Please accept my sincere thoughts and prayers. I haven't spoke to you in awhile but continued to keep your Mom and you in my prayers. Recently, I shared a moment with a friend because we both lost our Mom's this year. Here is his reflections (which I share) on who a "Mom" is....

"She's the whisper of the leaves as we walk down the street. She's the smell of bleach in freshly laundered socks. She's the cool hand on our brow when we're not well. She lives inside our laughter. She's crystallized in every tear drop. She's the place we came from, our first home. She's the map we follow with every step that we take. She's our first love and our first heart break. Nothing on earth can separate us. Not time, not space, not even death will ever separate us from our mother, friend, mentor and hero. We will always carry her inside of us."

Respectfully,

For 26 yrs we have been friends, sisters without a bloodline but sisters through and through. I know you are safe and without pain now, but I just don't know how I'm going to get by without you, you were my co-pilot. Life will go on but will never be the same. I know God has a plan for you and I know he had a plan when we met. We have been through so much together. Rest now my sister and keep one hand on my shoulder because you know I will always need you by my side. Rest in Peace.

Love Helen

Please watch over us and keep your hand on my shoulder for I don't know how my life will be without you. I miss and love you with all my heart. Rest in Peace Amy.
