Beloved husband of Janet (nee D'Eustachio), loving father of Debra Rose (Rae Ballard), Cheryl Meehan, Benedict Rose, Jr., Thomas VanHouten (Tracy) and Harry VanHouten (Susan), dear Pop of Paul Meehan, Austin Meehan, Colin Meehan, Nancy Highland, Angelo Ballard-Rose, Raphael Ballard-Rose, Thomas VanHouten, Jr., Madison VanHouten, Miranda VanHouten, Carly VanHouten and Aubree VanHouten. Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday 9 to 10 A.M. St. Dominic Church, 8504 Frankford Ave. Funeral Mass Tuesday 10 A.M. Interment St. Dominic Cem. JANET, WE ARE SO SORRY TO HEAR OF BEN'S PASSING. WE ONLY FOUND OUT FROM READING YOUR ENTRY IN PAT'S GUEST BOOK. THIS HAS BEEN A SAD WEEK. WE LOST TWO VERY GOOD FRIENDS, BUT THE MEMORIES WILL ALWAYS BE WITH US AND BRING SMILES TO OUR FACES.

I worked with Ben at Boulevard and Ogontz Districts during his time with the state. He was always a class act and good friend who enjoyed his life. I was sorry to hear about his passing but know that he is in a good place. My sympathies go out to his family but know that he will always be part of you and with you in some way.

I met Ben at the "old" Boulevard CAO where he was the chief steward for S.E.I.U 668 (PA Social Services Union). He fought for the folks he represented. It was a pleasure working with him. Sorry for your loss.

Ben was a gentlemen and a scholar. I have great memories of Ben when we worked together at the old Boulevard District at Front and Hunting Park. He will be greatly missed. Our condolences to the family and friends.

I will truly miss my brother-in -law Ben. I have always enjoyed talking with him. Ben was never lost for words and always asked how our family is doing in CA. I always knew Ben was taking care of my sister along with cooking great meals!!!! My prayers go out to my beautiful sister, Janet and her family along with Ben's family. Love you Janet. MaryAnn

We will miss our Brother in Law Ben and are deeply saddened by his passing. Our love and prayers go out to our sister, Ben's wife, Janet and to all of his children and grandchildren. Ben never was too busy to chat when we would call from So. Calif. He loved to talk and was always so interested in how things were in our lives. He made us feel so welcome in their home as well.
