Bernard McConnell Obituary

McCONNELL On Sept. 18, 2001, REV. BERNARD J. McCONNELL, S.J., at the Jesuit Community of St. Joseph's University, Philadelphia, the son of the late Bernard J., Sr., and Editha (nee Roderer) McConnell, of Philadelphia. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, John and Catherine McConnell, 4 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews, and by a cousin, Sr. Martin Regina McConnell, 0SF, in Aston, PA. Friends, relatives, and clergy are invited to viewings Fri., Sept. 21, from 3 to 5 P.M. in the Jesuit Community Chapel, Loyola Center, (Merion side), and from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. in the St. Joseph's University Chapel of St. Joseph, (Phila. side), 5600 City Ave., Philadelphia. A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be at 7:30 P.M. in the Chapel of St. Joseph. After a brief prayer service at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday in the Jesuit Community Chapel, burial will take place at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Memorial contributions may be sent in Fr. McConnell's name to the Jesuit Seminary/Mission Bureau, c/o Jesuit Community, 5600 City Ave., Phila., PA 19131.
