BIRTHE, Archaeologist, aged 68 at Sobell House, Oxford, Jan. 16 2010, surrounded by her family, after a courageous two-year fight against ovarian cancer. Beloved wife and collaborator of Martin Biddle, mother of Signe and Solvej, grandmother of Andrea-Anna, James, Constance, and Melody. Funeral service in Winchester Cathedral on January 28, 2010 at 1 P.M. Family flowers only, but donations, if wished, to Sobell House Hospice Charity (The Ward) or to Ovarian Cancer Action c/o Richard Steel and Partners, Alderman House, 12-14 City Road, Winchester, Hampshire, England SO23 8SG.

The summer camps of 1968 & 1969 in Winchester were milestones in my life. Birthe and Martin are remembered with great fondness. I am sure that I share my memories with many peoble around the world.

Gary and I will remember Birthe with huge fondness. Her humour had a wickedly sharp edge and she was always up for fun. She was also a remarkable conversationalist. I know she'll be sorely missed at every Biddle gathering. Our very best wishes to Martin, Signe & Solvej. Gary and Lindo
