POKORNY BONNIE (nee PROUGH) Jan. 11, 1945 - Nov. 7, 2025 Born on January 11, 1945, in Watertown, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, in Dunedin, Florida. She was 80 years old. Bonnie's life was marked by compassion, dedication, and a radiant warmth that touched everyone she encountered. She pursued her education at William Penn High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and went on to graduate from the Harrisburg Polyclinic Nursing School as a registered nurse. Her commitment to caring for others led her to a remarkable 42-year career at the Philadelphia Veterans Administration Hospital. There, she served countless veterans with unwavering professionalism and kindness. Bonnie's love for life extended far beyond her professional achievements. She was an avid traveler who found joy not just in the destinations but in the people she met and the cuisines she discovered along the way. Her curiosity and openness made every journey an adventure filled with connection and discovery. Those who knew Bonnie will remember her for her smile-a smile that could light up any room-and for her deep affection for animals, especially dogs. Her gentle spirit and boundless empathy made her beloved by both two-legged and four-legged friends alike. She is lovingly remembered by her life partner, Pat Monegan.
