DAVID CHOMSKY Obituary

CHOMSKY DR. DAVID Died peacefully early in the morning of June 15, 2021, surrounded by family and friends. He had a long career as a physician beginning in 1960 and continuing until the Covid-19 pandemic prevented him from making house calls on patients too sick or too poor to reach a doctor's office. He spent most of his career as a cardiologist at JFK hospital. His greatest joy was taking his dogs to visit hospitals, nursing homes, schools and shelters for children. He is survived by his wife Judith, sons Daniel and Don, daughters-in-law Laryssa and Amy, five grandchildren, Sammie, Rosa, Immanuel, Isaac and Tessa, as well as his dogs, Sidney and Koda. There will be a Memorial Service later in the summer. If you wish to attend, email [email protected]. If you wish to make a donation in David's memory, you may send your donation to Doctors Without Borders, Middle East Children's Alliance or PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society)

I am so sorry to hear about Dr. Chomsky´s death. I knew him from his work at MossRehab first as a physician and later when he visited patients with his therapy dog. He lived a life of service. May his memory be a blessing.

David's beautiful and kind spirit was an utter delight. The world is a less lively and whimsical place. The legendary zydeco parties that he and Judith so generously threw were a highlight of my year. His family is in my thoughts. May his memory be a blessing.

That his medical advice for most things was to wash it well with soap and water for 10 minutes. A wonderful man, unique au monde.
