David Edward Burke

BURKE DAVID EDWARD Age 68, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of New London, PA, and Ridley Township, PA, passed away on Nov. 17 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. He is survived by his children, Sarah and Michael. He was born on June 11, 1957, to Edward Patrick Burke and Virginia Sacristano. He was raised in Delaware County and attended Ridley High School, graduating in 1975. He received an associate degree from Widener University. He worked for 30 years at Exelon, mostly as a lineman with the Aerial Lines group in the DelChester region. He took great pride in the work. Dating back to his youth, he was an avid fan of Philadelphia sports, especially the Eagles. He often reminisced about attending games at Veterans Stadium as a season ticket holder when he was in high school. He spent his last night listening to the Eagles defeat the Lions on Sunday Night Football. He was a runner for many years, completing several marathons. He loved driving and listening to sports talk radio. In retirement, he spent time in Florida before settling in Wilmington. A private Service will be held at a later date.
