DAVID MARSHALL Obituary

MARSHALL
DAVID H., SR. On Nov. 2, 2009, age 97. Haddonfield resident for 56 years. Beloved husband for 67 years of the late Josephine (nee Thompson). Loving father of David H., Jr., of Haddonfield and Lucy M. Knight (Robert, Jr.), of Newark DE. Also survived by 6 grand-children, David, Douglas, and Kiersten Marshall, Kathryn Abraham, Leslie Koenig and Laura Toman, and 5 great grandchildren.
Mr. Marshall a 1935 graduate of Temple University Evening College, was a WWII veteran, serving as Army Chief Warrant Officer for the Invasion of Japan, Alaskan Theater. He later worked for 37 years in Civil Service for the Army Undersecretary of Defense, DEFCON, MATS, and Air Force. He retired as Assistant Regional Director: Security & Audit, US Department of Customs. Additionally, Mr. Marshall was a long time member of the Presbyterian Church, Haddonfield; Square Circle Sportsman Club, Gibbs-boro; and a Mason, Potter Lodge, Philadelphia. Mr. Marshall was active to the end, "sharp as a tack", enjoyed life to the fullest, spending summers in Strathmere NJ and winters in Florida. He played tennis well into his 80's and enjoyed biking and fishing well into his 90's. The family will receive friends Friday morning, after 10 A.M., KAIN-MURPHY FUNERAL SERVICES, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield NJ, where his Service will follow at 11 A.M. Interment private. Memorial donations in Mr. Marshall's name may be made to the charity of your choice.

David H. Marshall was a beloved and favorite neighbor. He showed all of us how to live gently, gracefully and fully and --we are all better people having had him in our lives.

Ninety-seven (97) years never! looked so wonderful -- or handsome on such a sweet person!!

Thank you dear, dear Neighbor! I appreciated every opportunity to visit and share!! I miss you already!!
