Dr. Arthur Seiderman Obituary

Seiderman Dr. Arthur Feb. 8, 2025. A pioneer in developmental optometry, passed away at home. A 1963 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, he served in the Army Medical Corps as a Captain and pursued post-graduate studies at the University of Vienna and Indiana University. He earned a master's in Child Development, recognizing that 20/20 vision wasn't enough for learning. Dr. Seiderman authored influential books, including "The Athletic Eye", "20/20 is Not Enough," and "Overlooked: 20/20 is Not Enough" and published research in the Journal of the American Optometric Association. For over 30 years, he served the Greater Delaware Valley, lecturing internationally and appearing in major media outlets. He was recognized as Professional Man of the Year by the Association for Developmental Disabilities. An avid sports fan, traveler and passionate about horses and horse racing, he is survived by his wife, Suzanne, and extended family: David and Gretchen Rantanen (Blaise and Chase), Eric and Kristen Rantanen (Aaron and Luke), and Richard and Pamela Cohen (Samantha and Blake). A gathering will be held on Sunday, February 16th from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Please reach out to the family for more information. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Learning Disabilities Association of America https://ldaamerica.org/donate/
