EDWARD FRANCIS JR., 82, died Thursday, January 13, 2011 in his home on Marco Island, FL. Ed was an entrepreneur and businessman in the Philadelphia area for more than four decades. He was born November 6, 1928 to Edward Francis Shearon Sr. and Florence Becker Shearon. He graduated from Brown Prep and LaSalle College. Ed served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In 1950 he married Barbara Gallagher, his beloved wife for over 60 years.
Ed was secretary-treasurer of Shearon Environmental Design. Ed retired from Shearon Design 1991 and moved with his wife to Marco Island, FL to retire where he pursued his love of boating and golf.
He was a member of the Great Oak Yacht Club on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and served as the Club's Commodore in the 1988. He was president of the United Golf League of Marco Island and an officer of the Marco Island Cruise Club.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (nee Gallagher) Shearon, devoted children Diane, Pamela, Edward and wife Carol, Timothy and wife Dana and his adoring grandchildren Brittany, Alison, Zachary, Matthew, Timothy, Jr. and Caitlin.
A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 10 A.M. at St Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA with a luncheon to follow and then a private interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham, PA. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
