Yesterday

"Aunt" EJ (aka "my fairy godmother") will be sorely missed. She lit up a room with her beauty, grace and laughter. Our family enjoyed many great times with EJ, Bill and Father Jim at the Jersey Shore. We always loved getting her cards and letters. She took many photos at my wedding and sent me a beautiful album (including some funny commentary!:)) which I will always cherish. My deepest sympathies to you, Kelly.

Elsie Jane was one of my best friends. We met working at PGH and we shared so many good times and much laughter. My mother always enjoyed her visits and was so glad we were friends. She had a knack for making people feel comfortable and special. I feel so blessed that I was able to enjoy a short visit with her this past summer with my daughters. My kids always said she made the best brownies! We will all miss her and our thoughts and prayers are with you, Kelly.

"EJ" a superior nurse... an active Alumnus of Philadelphia 'General Hospital. Elsie Jane was full of humor, happiness, love and caring as she administered care on the Men's Surgical Unit at the hospital from where she was graduated. Her unit was most known for Police and Fireman's Ward that was the best place to be admitted for excellence in nursing and medical care. She was in every performance/Blockley show produced by the nurses and doctors as she sang , danced, and brought beauty to everything she did. "EJ" brought religion into her life and the life of everyone she worked and associated with. She had so many friends in and out of the hospital. May the angels carry her into peace.

My friendship with EJ goes back to 1947 when we met in high school. We have remained in close touch all these years and made many wonderful memories together along with Bill and my husband, Jay, also a class mate. Now I look forward to our reunion in heaven. Grace Claster

Kelly, we are so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. We love her and your Dad so very much. So very thankful to have great memories of times shared together. We have your Mom’s handwritten letters and will cherish those keepsakes. It is comforting to know that the “power couple”, Bill and EJ are reunited at last. Your parents left a lasting impression in our hearts and in our children’s hearts forever ❤

Aunt EJ was a women you'd never forget. Her personality was loving, loud and full of love. I will always remember her for, her cheek pinching and big hugs. Aunt EJ was so loved and will be missed dearly.

You would be hard pressed to find a better person and friend, than EJ. While on one hand she leaves us with a big hole in our lives, on the other, she made our lives richer and larger to compensate for this loss. Rest in peace dearest one!

Losing EJ is the end of an era at Chancellors Glen. She and Bill were wonderful friends and neighbors to everyone here. She brought her banana bread to all new folks for years! EJ was truly one of a kind.
