I was looking Eric up today and I am very saddened to learn he passed away -- and so many years ago. My belated, sincere wishes of sympathy to Eric's family and friends. I reported to Eric at DiMark (Harte-Hanks) when I worked there as a copywriter. He was a tremendous writer and creative talent. He was always very respectful and supportive, not only when I worked with him, but years later when I changed careers and came back to him for a letter of recommendation and a reference. I am sure he is still missed.

I was looking up my friend that I've lost touch with because I was visiting Philadelphia and was shocked to find he was no longer with us Eric was my friend since I was 16 years old and he was 18. He was always such an honorable person even as a young Man. His parents should be so proud and know that the short time he was here on Earth he was wonderful to everybody he knew, he was so bright practical and very kind. He will always be missed by me as he was such a good friend to me. I am so happy that he found someone to love and loves him and saddened for Michelle's loss- Pamela Engstrom, New Mexico

I worked with Eric at Harte-Hanks 4 years ago. He was such a nice guy to work with, very creative, and had a unique sense of humor. He will be missed by a lot of people.
Every Sunday, my youngest son (7 yrs old) lights a candle after mass. We will light a special candle this week and will direct our prayers to Eric & his families/friends.

I think of ERIC each day, and still find it real hard that he will not be here to share Eagles or Phillies games with us and make fun of the names of the players. I feel honored and blessed that Eric became my friend and will miss him very much.

Ode To A Friend
by: Judy Kroll
Eric Ehrenfeuchter was someone I really admired
I will always remember him for the passion that he inspired
Some nineteen years ago he got me into bike riding
And that is a hobby that I never see subsiding
He was an upstanding guy who honestly abided by his principles
Although sometimes it was a challenge to keep his life uncomplicated and simple
Unfortunately for him some people really stressed him out
And sometimes he would scream at them and pout
Despite these disagreements, he stood by you loyally
He called you a friend and treated you royally
He was designated driver throughout my twenties, Although he sometimes acted goofy and funny
He was always responsible and very good with money
He worked at his job at an advertising agency to the upteenth degree
Giving it all he had most diligently
He was modest and possessed an unassuming manner
always willing to lend a hand with the utmost of candor
An ardent Eagles fan and Volkswagon afficionado
Not to mention a beer-lover, which he always consumed a lot of (!)
As I look back, Eric seemed to be there for every phase
Even the trying ones when I was in a haze
When I met him I knew I'd never be quite the same
Especially when I finally learned to spell his last name (!)
He was a true original with gentlemen-like features
A classic right down to his Converse sneakers
As I look back I can't remember a time when he wasn't there
In his modest yet unwavering way ready to share
His passions, his prides, his strongly held belief system
One thing's for sure, I'm really gonna miss him
RIP Eric for you will always remain close in my memories and my heart
As it would take a force stronger than death to tear our friendship apart

To the Ehrenfeuchter and Milano families:
Please accept my sincere sympathy at Eric's tragic passing.
I didn't know Eric well, just a few conversations at Milano get-togethers. But at one of these earlier this year I noticed that, in a room full of busy and loud adult conversation, Michele's little niece and nephew both gravitated directly to Eric and took turns climbing on his lap where they sat calmly and contentedly. I remember noting to myself that this very quiet person must have qualities of kindness and safety that the kids knew about. The very nice and sincere things said here by others who knew him better than I confirm my observation.
Michele you are affected by Eric's loss differently than anyone else - I am very sorry for the grief you have to bear.

I had shared my last interaction with your sister E but I thought I'd write it down for others to see since it really showed the great person you really were. I had gotten a copy change from a client we were working on thought about what they were asking and wrote down my suggestion. Not a copywriter -- don't pretend to be one but I always give it a try! So I take it to your office and there you were with 17,000 green folders on your desk. You never ever said, "hey I am too busy". I said E, the client has a change and this is what I think they might go with. You looked at it, leaned your head on your hand, said, "you know, this is what they didn't want us to say initially", sighed and said, ok, shaking his head.
I also think Jennifer Voliner was right on, there was a whole other side of Eric that most didn't get to experience in the office. He was a man of character, honesty, generosity, and patience. And outside the office he was just too funny. Give that man some Manhattans please!
To Eric and his family, God Bless.

As a former coworker of Eric's from the DiMark/Harte-Hanks days, I must say that this world has truly lost a great mind. But as a friend, I know that even more so, this world has lost a great heart.
Eric, I will never forget the special gifts you gave me. You know what they are. You were a good friend and I want to say thank you for helping to shape me into the person I am today. You will always be in my heart. <3

When I think of Eric, the term "Still waters run deep" comes to my mind. Eric was a very gentle, kind and intelligent soul and I was saddened and shocked to hear of his passing. I do hope the upcoming weeks and months ease the pain felt by his friends and family. Eric will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

I was so deeply saddened to hear of Eric's passing. I worked with Eric for 12 years at DiMark and then Harte Hanks.
Eric had a wonderful sense of humor that was mostly apparent outside of the office at company functions. Those who never saw that side of him definitely missed his true spirit.
To Eric's family -- I wish peace to all of you during this really difficult time. I hope that you find some comfort in knowing how many lives Eric touched in such a positive way.

The loss of someone so close is difficult to bear. We truly share your grief. The Eric we knew was a gentleman, both gentle of nature and proper in demeanor. (Hank would put on an embarrassed smile when we would tell him this, about his son.) And although Eric was somewhat shy when we first met, he quickly fit right in with our family. This became obvious when he started bragging about his favorite Philly teams amongst us New Yorkers. So glad Eric knew we loved him. We all have difficult days ahead of us facing family get-togethers, holidays and even just ordinary weekends, without him. We will continue to pray for strength and peace for both our families.

To Eric's family and friends,
My prayers are with you. It is still hard for us at work to accept that Eric is gone. He was a wonderful friend and colleague, hard-working and smart and patient and talented. I had the pleasure of working with him during his entire DiMark and then Harte-Hanks career. He touched many lives. We will miss him always.
