Ernest F. "Ernie" Koschineg Jr.

KOSCHINEG ERNEST F., JR., "ERNIE" Passed away quietly on November 28, 2025, at the age of 83. He and his wife, Edith "Edie" Koschineg, lived in North Wales, PA for over 25 years. Edie died on November 23, 2014 after 44 years of marriage. Ernie was raised in the Kensington area of Philadelphia. He was the son of the late Ernest and Geraldine Koschineg and brother of the late Michelle. Ernie was the devoted father of Ernest F. "Ernie" Koschineg, III and his wife Julie, and Kimberly A. Koschineg and her husband Todd Stefan. He was a proud and doting grandfather to his five grandchildren, Connor, Lynley, Ella, Stone and Shelby, who brought immeasurable happiness and joy to his life. Ernie attended Northeast Catholic High School where he proudly graduated in 1961. He then matriculated to St. Joseph's University where he received a Bachelor's degree in history. His studies then took him to Villanova University where he received a Masters's degree in historical studies. Following the completion of his post-graduate studies, Ernie returned to the hallowed halls of North Catholic where he served as a teacher and then the most feared and respected disciplinarian for 45 years. His love for his job and the students was known by many. Ernie was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in 2010. Relatives, friends and members of the North Catholic Community are invited to his Visitation on Saturday, December 6th from 9 to 10:45 A.M. at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Rd, North Wales, PA 19454. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11 A.M. Interment St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. The family requests memorial contributions in his name can be made to the Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School to benefit the basketball program.
