TRYKOWSKI, Andrew A. Andrew A. Trykowski, 83, of New Britain died on Saturday, (February 25, 2006) at New Britain General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Janice (Levasseur) Trykowski for 53 years. Born in New Britain, he was a lifelong city resident and was a member of Holy Cross Church. He attended local schools and graduated from the University of West Virginia receiving a B.S. Degree in Journalism and attended Trinity College where he received his Teaching Certificate. Mr. Trykowski was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran and served during World War II. He was employed by General Electric, Plainville for 28 years retiring in 1984. He was an active member of the Northwestern TGM Club, where he served as former Commander, Vice Commander, Financial Secretary and on the House Committee. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 511, New Britain. Throughout the years, he was a hunter and an avid fisherman, fishing with his brother Joe and grandson Jared. A loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he also leaves his six children, Andrew M. Trykowski and his wife, Chung-Hi of Harwinton, Andrea SantaMaria and her husband, Frank, and Laurel Tardif and her husband, Marcel all of New Britain, Jessica Gerrish and her husband, Donald of Southington, Maxine Pomerenke of Plainville, and Jennifer Trykowski of New Britain; nine grandchildren, Christine, Michelle, Frank, and Joseph SantaMaria, Nicholas and Andrew Tardif, Emily and Sarah Gerrish, and Jared Pomerenke; a great grandson, Christian Davidson. He also leaves a brother, Stanley Trykowski of Canton, MA; and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Edward, Lucian and Joseph Trykowski. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, at 9:15 a.m., from the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church. Burial, with military honors, will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
