FOX ESTHER "PENNY" (NEE GROSSMAN) Esther (Penny) Grossman Fox, (Born Nov. 17, 1931), of Philadelphia, PA, loving wife of the late Robert A. Fox, devoted mother of the late James F. Fox, Debra, Nancy (Jon Edwards), Amy (Dan Wheeler) and Kenneth (Ana) and adored grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, passed away peacefully at home on September 24, 2025. She moved through life, like the dancer that she was, with grace, purpose and generosity. Her devotion to family and friends, joy for celebrating life and helping others will live on in all who knew her. A passionate advocate for women's colleges and women's education, Penny joined the Board of Trustees of Moore College of Art & Design in 1991 and continued her dedicated service until 2023. Penny's involvement with the Philadelphia Museum of Art began in 1982, when she joined the Park House Guides, leading tours of the historic 18th-century houses in Fairmount Park. She was a longtime member of both the Women's and Craft Show Committees, and joined the Museum's Board of Trustees in 2000. Penny served as a Trustee of the Philadelphia Ballet from 2001 to 2016, supporting the Ballet with the same enthusiasm and dedication she brought to all of her philanthropic endeavors.
